Due to unbearable family disputes, Peace\u2019s mother & father divorced in 2017 with Peace left in Custody of her father. Peace\u2019s father re-married months later. Peace’s Step-mum then starting mistreating Peace & her sibling after giving birth to her own children.

Peace\u2019s father works in a distant place from home as a gardener in someone\u2019s farm, which Peace\u2019s step mother has used as an advantage to mistreat Peace and the sister by overbeating them, abusing them with harsh words, cursing them and burdening them with hard labour. Peace’s father confronted his wife for maltreating Peace, she resorted to violence with a pair of cutlers attempting to kill Peace’s father. Peace’s step-Mum has received lots of warnings from the local authorities but this has done more harm than good to Poor little Peace as nothing has changed.

Even though Peace is a very brilliant girl at school with a dream of becoming a Teacher in future, it is noted that there are many chances of her failing to attain formal education and achieve her dream due to lack of enough financial support at home.

Shakira’s mum’s employers sent her packing back to her mother in the village. Upon giving birth, Shakira\u2019s mother abandoned her in the village and left and hasn’t been seen since. Shakira is under the care of her Aunt who is an aging widow herself taking care of her own 4 children at the same time. This has put a lot of strain of Shakira’s Aunt due to limited resources. As it is the main activity carried out in Buyende District, Prossy\u2019s parents depend on cultivating crops in people\u2019s farms to earn food for consumption at home and some little money to buy a few basic needs at home.

Regardless of the long hours spent working in these crop farms, the payment is too little to solve the many demands at home. In addition to that, Prossy and her siblings are not able to attend school due to lack of school dues. Though all this is happening, Prossy still lives with her dream of becoming a lawyer in future after studying.

Tendo\u2019s parents always depend on digging people\u2019s farms to earn a living but due to their aging lives, they are put in a fixed potion of not being able to work long hours like in the past. This eventually hinders them from catering for the ever increasing demands at home which include school fees that has led to dropout of Tendo from school.

However, Anna\u2019s mother who is also infected with HIV\/AIDS is overworking herself for purposes of raising her children but this keeps weakening her body because she doesn\u2019t have enough access to basic medical care.

Together with siblings, Anna tries as much as possible to support their mother in different home chores and work at different crop farms where they to earn a living for survival.

Petu is the third born of 5 siblings living with their parents in Kabukye village, Buyende District. As a whole family of 7 people, they all stay in a one roomed house, which is grass thatched.

With ever increasing malaria cases of infected people in Uganda with Buyende District inclusive, Petu together with siblings still don\u2019t have beddings to sleep on or cover themselves while sleeping. Instead, they sleep on mats, sack cloths, and cover themselves with some rugs.

Getting what to eat is a tug of war because both Petu\u2019s parents as well as her siblings don\u2019t have any economic activity carried out from which they can earn a living. They only depend on getting a few food stuffs from people who they work on their crop farms.

The worst of it all, the Petu\u2019s father is a drunkard who most of the times on top of mistreating and beating them at home, he goes ahead and misuses the little money earned from working on people\u2019s farms by taking alcohol, leaving his dependent at home starving.
