Not only is it hard to get what to put on but also eating a single hot meal in a day is a miracle on its own. Unless God opens a door of provision, children won’t be in position to attain formal education due to lack of financial muscle at home.

Egulance and her children stay in a two roomed grass thatched house with no comfortable place to put their heads to rest after long hours of working because they don’t have beddings. They only things they use are papyrus rigs, mats, sack cloth and rugs, to sleep on and also cover themselves. More to this, they hardly get what to put on as cloths.

With all this hard life faced, Egulance desires that her children attain formal education which in the future will change her story.

Regardless of his presence at home, Nabirye’s husband is not offering the required support at home as a husband and a father because the little money earned from the hard labor in people gardens, he spends it in taking alcohol. On top of that, he is violent and oppressive to Nabirye as well as the children. This has also led to family instabilities.

With all this happening, children are prone to school dropout due to lack of finances to support their school dues.

Robina says that her children got a lot of family instabilities which prompted them to break up, leaving the vulnerable grandchildren in her hands. The whole load is on her because her husband died long time ago. With this burden on her, Robina can hardly spend longer hours digging like while she was still young.

Together with her grandchildren, Robina stays in a single roomed, grass thatched house. On top of this congestion, these people face a great challenge of no beddings, cloths, limited food supply.

Because Monic’s husband never left them with family land which they can claim ownership, the only option available for them survive was to resort to digging on people’s crop farms, for food or/add little money which can help them survive.
Together with 5 children, Monic stays in a one roomed, grass thatched and mud house. With no beddings to sleep in or cover themselves but rather sack cloths, papyrus rigs, mats and rugs are the other only options available to help them out.

On top if that, eating one hot meal in a day is a miracle which they eat once a day (supper time) and the rest of the time during day they spend it working

Florence lost her husband 5 years ago due to HIV/AIDS and left Florence infected too. Her health condition is tiring because she works a lot to provide food on a plate for her children and at the same time she doesn’t get enough medical care to keep immunity boosted and body nourished.
Together with children, Florence move long distance from their home looking for generous people who can allow them dig their gardens for purposes of earning a living in terms of food stuffs and little money.

With this situation they are going through, all the children are not able to attain formal education even though it is their great desire to get it.

Although she declares that she is married, but it is realized that all the responsibilities are upon her. The husband, who would be giving in support to his family, is the one who instead spends the little they get in alcoholism.
After spending long hours working in people’s crop farms to earn food and little money as payment, the violent father grabs the earned money and goes for alcohol taking, leaving his family members to starve.

In addition to this, these don’t have beddings, no basic needs and it is by chance that these can eat a single hot meal in a day.

Together with her children, Sesina stays in a two roomed house but with no clothing and beddings for the children since her hands are tied up.

These eat only one hot meal a day (late lunch) since they spend the whole digging and on top of that they don’t have enough food to cater for the 3 normal meals.

A mother of 13 children, Mary is overburdened by a lot of responsibilities at home since her husband is very aged and not in position to support her in manual work while cultivating people’s crop farms to earn a living in terms of food and little money to buy basic needs like soap, salt and some clothing for the children. On top of sleeping in a single roomed house, all these do not have beddings to sleep on or cover themselves; instead they sleep on papyrus rigs and mats.

Eating two hot meals in a day is a miracle because they don’t have capacity of attaining them. They only depend on one hot meal in a day.

Together with her children Maty stay in a single roomed, grass thatched and mud house where they sleep on mats, and cover themselves with rugs because they lack beddings.
Farming being a common activity for most women in Kabukye Village where Mary resides that they carryout to earn a living, since Mary doesn’t own a land to farm food for her family, she depends on cultivating other people’s crop farms in order to be repaid with food that she uses to feed her family. However, it is unfortunate that this food is not enough and so they not in position to eat two hot meals in a day.

They only depend on one hot meal a day (super) because they spend the whole in farming.

Being uneducated, Evaridah doesn’t have any other activity that she can carry out except digging on people’s crop farms such that they can repay her with food and she uses it to feed her family and survive.
However, their farming activity has been greatly affected by continued sunny season which dried out a lot of their crops and little has been harvested, putting them in a state of lacking food as well as basic needs like cloths, beddings, soap, salt, etc which would buy from the little they could get after selling a little produces.

Evarodha lives with a desire of helping her children to attain formal education but she is always limited by lack of school fees and scholastic materials.

Jane lost her husband in 2019 who left her with 4 children as a responsibility to raise them. According to African culture, they seem to be few children, however, considering the fact that Jane was not left with a family land by her husband which she could use to cultivate food for her children, she is only put in a hard situation of digging on people’s crop farms in order to get repaid in return with food stuffs and little money to take care of a few basics at home.

All the 5 people stay in a one roomed, grass thatched house and it is noted that most of them are sickly due to congestion in one room and also lack of beddings to sleep on and cover themselves.

Though she considers herself as married, Edisa together her children are in great need at home, with lack of human basic needs like beddings, clothing, and food, simply because her husband is not supportive and irresponsible.

On top of that, Edisa is always sickly with high blood pressure which has limited her capability of digging on people’s crop farms which has always been her source of income in supporting herself and the children.

Together with her family, Sarah only lives with a chance of eating one hot meal a day but with no hope or assurance of another meal the following day.
They don’t a farm land where to grow some crops for food production, consumption and surplus for sale. They instead cultivate other people’s crop farms such that they can get repaid in return with some food and little money to survive on.

More so, it is noted that Sarah’s husband is not so much supportive to his family to his family and this compels Sarah to go an extra mile in winning bread for the whole family, which is tiresome for her.

On top of aging, Toprista is ever sickly with blood pressure, ulcers and diabetes. More so, she is not in position to access basic medical care which would help her in boosting her immunity. This has greatly denied food supply at home because she is no longer in position to spend long days digging in people’s crop farms.
On top of spending longs hours under the sun cultivating people’s crop farms to earn some food for her grandchildren, it is so sad that Kabukye village where Toprista resides has greatly been affected by continued sunny season which has spoilt their grown crops, hence limiting food supply at home.

Being uneducated, Toprista depends on this activity only, to survive together with her 7 grand children.

Since 2010, Federika has sacrifice her time and energy to take care of her 10 children who were dumped and abandoned by her husband who left them to unknown destination.
With a lot of responsibilities and demands on her head, Federika is wearing out and aging due to a lot of hard work carried out in people’s crop farms in order to receive food for her and the children.

All these stay in a single roomed, grass thatched and mud house.
