Midyear Charity Party Success: Spreading Joy and Making a Difference

We are excited to share the success of our recent midyear charity party held on July 6th, 2024. At Daughters of Hope Ministries, we believe in being kind and helping others, and this event truly showed our commitment to serving those who need help.

See what happened in photos

Because it was hard for some people to get to one place, we decided to host the party at three places – Buyamba village, Kabukye village, and the Main Campus Kitukilo village. This way, more people could come and join in.

The gathering was really special because we were able to help:

  • 200 Children
  • 100 Widows
  • 20 Orphans

We gave food to the children, spent time with the widows, and helped pay for school fees for the orphans – all thanks to your support.

This celebration would not have been possible without each one of you who helped us. Your support has brought happiness, food, and education help to those who need it. Every act of kindness makes a big difference.

As our founder Jean Peace Mountain said, “Thank you for being part of this caring effort. Together we are making a difference.”

Warm regards,

When people come together from different backgrounds with one goal in mind – spreading love and showing kindness – amazing things happen! Thank you all once again!

1 Acre of land secured for Skilling project

Daughters and Widows of Hope has already secured 1 acre of land where we hope to establish a skilling centre for vulnerable women, girls, youth and children in Buyende. We continue to call upon all well wishers and donors for more support towards the success of the project.

The team from DAHOPE visited the newly acquired land recently to talk to community members and share a few gifts plus words of hope with them (See the story in pictures below)

An amazing outreach in Kitukiro-Buyende

Daughters and Widows of Hope Ministries conducted an amazing outreach in Kitukiro – Buyende district where many activities were conducted. Women Probono Initiative (WPI) lawyers carried out an awareness training on Gender Based Violence (GBV) , sexual abuse, child trafficking among other issues. We provide counselling to a number of women and girls. Gift hampers were given out to the girls, widows and mothers. We appreciate everyone who contributed to make this a success.

-24 vulnerable women and girls received counselling on various issues including SGBV

-300 vulnerable women and children received gifts

-A pulpit and 25 chairs were donated to the church

-20 vulnerable children were identified and registered to receive education support.

If you would love to support more of such outreaches or child sponsorship, kindly call us or email us and we will guide you. You can as well donate on the current campaigns through this website or send a general donation using the donate button/page.

Below is a pictorial presentation of the outreach.

Bringing Hope to the Disadvantaged

“Education is Power”.

The more one is filled with knowledge, the more they are empowered to live an independent life, hence a bright future.

Through our Program of Empowering the Girl Child in formal and Informal/ Vocational education, these five girls by the names of Namukose Florence, Namwase Alasia, Kisakye Ruth, Nalubanga Ruth and Nasasira Apophia, residents of Buyende and Shema Districts respectively have got an opportunity to attain Vocational Training in Hair Dressing.

Due to unavoidable circumstances which include but not limited to lack of financial support in the respective homes to cater for their school dues, these and many other girls in diverse kinds of Villages keep dropping out of school and most of them are forced into teenage marriages and harsh labor as house maids in cities/ towns where they sometimes are misused sexually and dumped.

With help of Daughters and Widows of Hope Ministries together with friends and partners, girls as such who have lost hope of attaining formal education are given an opportunity to get hands-on training in different skills like, Hair Dressing, Tailoring, Fashion and Design, Bakery, among others.

Through Halleluya International School of Beauty, these 5 girls have been given a chance to take on a training in Hair Dressing course after which they will be qualified, certified and able to start up their own small scale businesses to sustain themselves independently.
